Berlin

Because Ethan is probably the best person ever, I got to go to Berlin, courtesy of an epic birthday present.

Berlin provided the best food and beer one could want... and luckily for us, a propensity towards serving large quantities of both. It was excellent. Despite the copious amounts of meat leaving us a tad protein-ed out, it was definitely worth it. The first night there, we visited Hackethals, a truly delightful, tucked away (so tucked away, in fact, that we really were sure we'd taken a wrong turn down a very quiet, slightly ominous side road) restaurant that served perhaps the strongest beer I've ever had. The food was also extremely tasty.

It's a city steeped in history. Visiting the Berlin Wall, the Topographie des Terrors and the Jewish memorial, you can only just begin to fathom some of the events that have taken place there. It's truly an incredible and thought-provoking experience. I recommend.

Berlin, to me, has been one of the most interesting places I have ever visited. Thank you, Berlin.
