Life in Fiction (Part 6)

Read Part 5 here.

"Where is Lou anyway?" Kath asked her Nan. Lou was normally always round Beth's house. The pair lived down the same road, near the high street. They had met when Lou had taken quite a nasty fall after attempting to ride a unicycle, seventeen years ago, outside of Beth's house.

At first, Kath had thought nothing of Lou and her "random" appearances at her Nan's. She would often pop in, asking to borrow sugar, even though she was the one who lived nearer the corner shop. She had even dropped round once on the premise that she needed to borrow a pair of nice shoes. Despite the fact they wore different sizes.

And also the fact she only had one foot after the accident. But still.

They were now thinking of moving in together.

"Well you know how she used to love Scrapheap challenge? She's trying to find the parts to build herself something or other... I think she mentioned an underwater car".
Kath nodded, but in the back of her mind, she was wondering whereabouts Lou would be testing her new creation, should it come into fruition. Hopefully she would be there to help should anything inevitably go wrong.

The Answer coughed beside her.

Bugger. How could she forget the man next to her? Right. Well,  a proper introduction was called for. Kath needed to know this gentleman's name, now.

"Ah, um... yes. Nanny Beth, this is...?"
